KINGS MOVE TO 2–0 · A PHYSICAL 16–6 WIN OVER THE HURRICANES

The Northeast Kings improved to 2-0 with a physical 16-6 victory over the Hurricanes at Germantown HS Field.
The Kings' offense came out hot and found the end zone early. The Hurricanes answered with a touchdown of their own, but the Kings' defense settled in from there and did not allow another point for the rest of the game.
The tone of the afternoon was physical on both sides of the football. The Kings created turnovers, forced fumbles and opened running lanes on offense as they took control of the game. The result was another complete team win and an undefeated start through two games.
For Curtis Davis, football is part of something bigger: a lifestyle built around preparation, discipline and continuing to show up.
A recent training post featuring Curtis documents a Philadelphia workout focused on single-leg stability and lateral movement, with the message that preparation for January camp starts months before the first whistle. The post summed up the mentality simply: “Dedication is something you can’t teach.”
That commitment comes while Curtis is preparing for another major responsibility away from football. In September, he shared that he expects to deploy again within the next four months, ending his message with the same mentality he carries into training: keep getting after it whenever you can.
His activity away from football also reflects an active lifestyle. Just weeks ago, Curtis posted after completing an 11-mile ride, writing that he was “back like we never left.”
For the Kings, Curtis is a fitting spotlight not simply because of what happens between the lines, but because of what he represents outside them: preparation before it is required, consistency when nobody is keeping score, and the willingness to keep working when life demands more.
THE KING'S MENTALITY: Prepare early. Stay disciplined. Keep getting after it.
2-0
Tight end X'Zel Warren scored on a toe-tap touchdown that helped put the game out of reach.
Seam, a veteran defensive lineman, has a fumble recovery in each of the Kings' first two games and continues to find himself around the football.
Message from Coach: "One week at a time. You go into the week 0-1 and worry about the task at hand."
On the defense: "Defensively, we are still trying to find our stride. We have yet to be challenged, so we have to stay vigilant at all times."
Focus for the next game: Contain the run while applying a lot of pressure.
Date: October 31, 2026 Location: Northeast High School
The Kings are turning their Halloween game into a family event. Youth wearing costumes will receive free admission and will be able to go around the track collecting candy during the game. Halftime activities are also planned.
The goal is to give local youth and families a safe environment to enjoy Halloween, football and community fun together.
People involved: Volunteers from the Kings community.
The spring champions remain unbeaten on the field after another dominant performance, this time against the Bears.
The Broncos got their offense rolling and picked up their first win of the season against a Cardinals team that had pitched a shutout the previous week.
